A marquee can virtually give you a blank canvas to create an occasion that is meaningful to you. That could be by the dazzling waterfront, at one of the beautiful venues within the inner city, in a gorgeous vineyard, or at your favourite beach.
Marquees are designed in all shapes and sizes to complement your space just the way you like it. You need to consider what style of marquee you prefer, framed, traditional, tipis or cleared roofed marquees? Would you like windows and doors or completely open on one side? Then you look at things like flooring, carpet, hard flooring or rugs/matts which all need to compliment the table layout.
A marquee wedding can be very cost effective, especially if you’re planning a wedding with guests in the hundreds. Choosing a marquee means you only pay a fixed cost depending on the marquee size. Venues may charge per head on the number of guests attending and that can end up blowing your budget.
Marquee weddings may allow you the flexibility to choose your own caterer and favourite wine/beer where-as venues generally only allow their appointed caterer and their preferred wine list. The size of marquee you need will be based on the number of guests you are expecting, the style of the event & the space available.
Imagine the blue sky, a ceremony by the lake and a reception in the garden sipping cocktails amidst a scene of rolling green grass. Choosing an outdoor reception, no matter the weather, our sturdy marquee structures mean that you and your important guests will remain dry and keep enjoying your wonderful reception. Our tip, ensure there’s air conditioning or heating included in the rental to keep your guests comfortable.
ACCESS AND PARKING
When you have multiple suppliers delivering items, it’s important to have direct access to the marquee so they can off-load heavy items with ease. It’s also important to ensure you have enough parking on-site and even allocate a specific area for cars so you don’t accidently have a car in every wedding photo when you were there to capture the views!
There’s nothing worse than when you’re having the time of your life and the venue announces ‘last drinks’. If you want to pull an all-nighter, the first thing to check is if your preferred venue has noise restrictions and what time does that come into play. Additionally, you will need to consider are staffing costs, perhaps toilets and generator that will power everything from the speakers to the lighting.
PLANNING & STYLING
Seriously consider having a planner or stylist come on-board to assist with the planning or managing the wedding day. A planner can decorate the venue, take delivery of goods, deal with any challenges that may arise in a professional manner leaving you to enjoy the day ahead.
