The Phluid Project is reportedly the first ever gender-inclusive retail store. It’s part community, part experimental platform and part retail – free of gender norms and full of possibilities.
‘The Phluid Project is committed to redefining gender labels and creating a place for self-expression and creative sharing where strangers, allies, friends – people – can unapologetically be themselves.’
The 3000 square foot retail store just opened in Manhattan and is full of products including t-shirts, tanks, pants, shoes, cosmetics, accessories and gifts starting at $35 - $500. The Phluid Projects brand occupies roughly 50% of the clothing alongside a selection of other brands with gender-free products.
Even though it operates as a retail space with a coffee and juice bar, there are areas with seating and availability to host special events to create a stronger sense of community.
